I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to mobile controllers and this one has fared well since I received it.Overall I’m satisfied with it and compared to my previous Frankenstein creations, having a single unit with grip and pad is nice since the triggers won’t slide. And also it’s pretty simple to take a screen shot or access menus, since you can slide your phone down. For my iPhone X it has worked well. Now I do turn on the fan, but I’m unsure if it’s really helping, and it introduces vibrations into my gyro aim.I would say, if you want better mobile controls, this is not a bad choice. But I’m still unsure the best way to carry it around, since it isn’t very compact.Update, one draw back, recently while playing I've noticed the phone slipping, like the right side falls a bit, it is simple to fix, just push it back up, but in a firefight not realizing your fire button isn't connecting can ruin a great match of Fortnite.Update 2:I made some adjustments with some Velcro strips around my office.Basically I added layers of Velcro so it can hold the phone up from the bottom.Taking out the phone is a bit more difficult, but I’m no longer worried about slippage and really enjoying all the wins. Now I’m up to 100 solo victories for a single season.
All in all, good stuff considering the low price. Been using it for about a week playing Call of Duty Mobile. I can say my gameplay has improved. It's much easier to aim and shoot while moving and jumping, or run away from a fight when you need to. You will still need some practice to get the hang of this, don't get me wrong.I'm using a OnePlus 8T and it works great. Don't need to take the cover off (it's the basic cover you get with the phone). The phone fits snuggly and doesn't slide off. Putting the phone in and out is also pretty easy, as it's a matter of pulling one side of the controller, placing/removing the phone, and letting go. The handles are connected with a spring so they are always pulling against each other for a tight grip.Don't expect high quality here - I believe everything is made out of plastic. I'm used to a PS4 controller, so the triggers here feel very different, as they are just connected to the screen clickers with a spring. So they're very flimsy and wiggly to the touch, but I'm not getting any accidental taps as a result, and you get used to it. It's just an aesthetic-feely thing.Ergonomics-wise, this isn't very comfortable. This controller forces you to hold it in a somewhat unnatural position. When you're just holding the back triggers, it's fine, but when you add your thumbs touching the screen to the mix, you kind of have to keep putting an effort to hold your hands in a ready-to-shake-someone's-hand position (think holding a generic controller, and then turning your hands in an inward potion, toward the floor), instead of a more relaxed ready-to-receive-an-item-in-your-palm position. I think positioning the back triggers differently could have helped this. Either way, I don't feel strain or pain after a few hours of playing, it's just not comfortable. Can't comment on the fan as I've never used it.There's also a support bracket on the back that you can unfold to have the controller stand in various angles. I tried that once but again, this is just plastic so the stand is quite wobbly, and also I didn't find it comfortable while holding the screen/controller. I just hold the controller in my hands when I play.
