When using mobile phone navigation, the dashboard is the best mounting position, you don't have to look down or sideways to see the navigation route.
If your dashboard is not suitable for mounting, the rearview mirror is also a good choice.
When parking for a rest, or the copilot wants to watchmovies, you can mount it on the sun visor.

The silicone pad on the bottom of the base makes mounting more stable and won't scratch the dashboard.
There are small anti-skid pads on the inside of the four clamping arms to prevent the mobile phone from slipping and scratching.
The strong spring clip on the base makes the mounting more stable without fear of dropping.
The design of the scalable clamping arms makes this car phone holder suitable for most mobile phones. For example, it's compatible with iPhone 12/12 pro 11/11 pro/XS/XR/X/8/7,Galaxy, Moto,Huawei,Xiaomiand more other smartphones.

Where has this phone dash clip been? I found this after I had another phone mount almost ruin my windshield when the suction melted in the sun. This mount is great because it clips to your dash. So it places your phone at a closer viewing distance, which is important for reducing distraction while driving, and also allowing you to see your phone better. The only negative I can find about this clip mount is that the prongs on it that hold your phone in place, are not designed to work around a phone case. You will need to take your phone out of it's case in order to clip your phone onto this mount. It's a minor inconvenience, but if you use a slip on clear case like I do, then it only takes a few seconds to remove the case and clip your phone on this mount. The build quality of this mount is pretty good. It comes with an allen wrench style screw-driver with a phillips head for tightening the joints in this clip. So far I haven't had to use that much. I just tightened the screws in this clip before I mounted it on my dash, and it seems to be holding up very well. I have no real complaints about this clip mount, and I recommend it.
Works like a charm, and was easy to mount on my MFD, and I can adjust my phone where i need it to be. The product feels pretty durable and is stable on rough roads once the phone is centered. My only issue is I do have to lower it when I'm putting up my sun shade, which causes the screw that rotates the mount to become loose, and the weight of the phone causes it to tilt forwards. They do provide an Allen screw key hybrid to adjust it back into place though.
I drive a 2013 Chevy Avalanche (important to note, based on the form factor for the dashboard) and this mount is *perfect*.I have tried several others before this one - ones that mount in the air vent, ones that insert into the slot for the CD player, etc. Most were either cheaply made; or they weren't steady enough (shaking with movement of the truck); or I had to look away from the road to check the GPS, which isn't always a safe option (!); or, they blocked something else on the console (like the mount which used the CD player slot, blocking the radio display). This mount is made of good material, and the clip for mounting on the dashboard has a heavy-duty sprint which holds it in place nicely.I was able to position it right-of-center, so it isn't in my direct line of sight - but still close enough to take a quick glance without losing attention on the road in front of me.If you want to move it to left-of-center, you can do that as well - that's a personal preference kind of thing, whatever works for you.The pivot points are perfect, at least for my usage - I'm able to position the phone exactly the way I want it to sit for the best viewing (orientation, angle, etc.)It took a few tries to make placing and removing the phone "smooth", as it is an "always-on" kind of compression grip for the phone (as opposed to the mounts which close and have to be release via a button or the like), but that was trivial - once you get used to it, you forget that it was ever an issue.(FYI, I liked it so much I bought one for my brother ...)
